11 Reasons Why Every Female Athlete Should Have A Pull-Up Bar

A little over a year ago when everyone was stocking up on toilet paper, I bought a pull-up bar instead. This purchase has become one of my best decisions. Here are 11 reasons why you should get one, too:

 

1.     Posture

Poor posture leads to muscle imbalances which leads to injuries. Sitting for extended periods of time, carrying backpacks, and staring at screens all cause bad posture. Pull-up bars lead to better posture.


2.     Strength

With a pull-up bar, you can work your back muscles, shoulder muscles, core muscles, and arms. Pull-up bars lead to better strength.

 

3.     Grip

Grip strength is a great predictor of longevity and overall health and wellness. Hanging from a pull-up bar leads to better grip strength

 

4.     Decompress

Hang tight, relax, and let gravity do its thing. Your spine not only deserves it, but will also thank you. Pull-up bars lead to better spine health and alignment

 

5.     The journey

I remember when my goal was to just do one pull-up. I committed, was consistent, and now I do weighted pull-ups for reps. Pull-up bars lead to the ability to do pull-ups.

Some days I create a game where every time I walk through the doorway with my pull-up bar, I have to do two pull-ups. Or, I have to hang for 30 seconds. Or, I have to do 10 knee-raises. Or, 3 times throughout the day I have to do as many pull-ups as I can. The possibilities are endless.  Pull-up bars lead to better possibilities.
